Lip Blush Tattooing
Wish your lips looked fuller, more even, or naturally defined — without lipstick?
Lip blush tattooing is a subtle way to restore colour, enhance symmetry, and improve lip shape, giving you a natural tint that lasts all day, every day. It’s ideal for pale, uneven, or fading lips and perfect for clients who want a polished look with minimal effort.
Treatment & Results
Lip blush tattooing is a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment where pigment is softly deposited into the lips to enhance their shape and colour. The result is a soft, sheer tint — like your favourite lip stain — that improves definition, balances asymmetry, and restores youthful fullness. Over time, the pigment fades naturally, leaving behind a soft blush of colour.

Maintenance touch-up every 1–3 years depending on retention and preference.
Downtime
Expect swelling, tenderness, and tightness for the first 24–48 hours. Peeling or flaking may occur during the healing process (up to 7–10 days), with colour softening over time.
Preparation
- Gently exfoliate lips in the days leading up to your appointment
- Keep lips well hydrated in the week prior (lip balm, water intake)
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood thinners 24 hours before
- If prone to cold sores, speak with your GP or pharmacist about antiviral medication as a preventative measure
Aftercare
- Avoid hot, spicy, or acidic foods for the first few days
- Do not pick, peel, or rub the lips during healing
- Apply the healing balm as directed and avoid makeup on the lips
- Avoid saunas, swimming, and excessive sun exposure for 7–10 days
- Allow pigment to settle — final colour will appear softer once fully healed
Alternative Treatments
- Lip tinting (non-permanent)
- Exfoliating lip treatments
- Dermal lip treatments (by nurse, not same-day)
FAQs
Q: Is lip blush tattooing painful?
A: Some discomfort is normal, but we apply a topical anaesthetic to minimise this. Most clients describe the sensation as a light scratching or tickling.
Q: How long does it last?
A: Results typically last between 1–3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you follow aftercare instructions.
Q: Will it make my lips look bigger?
A: While lip blush doesn’t physically add volume, it enhances the shape and colour of your lips, creating the illusion of fuller, more defined lips.
Q: What colour will my lips be afterwards?
A: Initially, the pigment may appear darker or bolder. As your lips heal, the colour will soften into a more natural, sheer tint suited to your desired tone.
Q: Can I wear lipstick afterwards?
A: Yes — after your lips are fully healed (usually around 2 weeks), you can wear lipstick as usual. Many clients find they no longer need to.
