Frequently Asked Questions

  •   Q: Are there any risks?

A: As with any treatment involving a blade, there is a small risk of superficial nicks to the skin. These are rare and typically heal quickly. Our therapists are highly trained to minimise this risk.

  •   Q: Is dermaplaning suitable for all skin types?

A: Dermaplaning is safe for most skin types, especially normal to dry skin. However, it may not be suitable for those with active acne, rosacea, or certain skin sensitivities. Your therapist will assess your skin during your consultation.

  • Q: Will my hair grow back darker or thicker?

A: No — dermaplaning only removes the fine vellus hair (peach fuzz), which grows back at the same rate, colour, and texture. It won’t become darker or thicker.

  •   Q: Can I wear makeup after the treatment?

A: We recommend waiting at least 24 hours before applying makeup to allow the skin to settle and to reduce the risk of irritation.

  • Q: Is dermaplaning painful?

A: Not at all. Clients typically describe it as a gentle scraping or brushing sensation. Most find it very relaxing!
